We now have edited a short version of the discussion you were a part of with a few punchy excerpts. You can view it here. It was a great conversation, and we are keen to continue talking about these issues.
Even better, you are invited to the sequel, a performance by the members of Gamelan DanAnda, Mahindra Bali, Ria Soemardjo and an electro jazz fusion group Firetail this Saturday, June 10, at Music Market, Collingwood Yards.
As you know it’s especially meaningful to me because it’s a part of The Boite’s vision for creating new intercultural works to represent the diversity in our music community. I am hoping to do more of these kinds of projects in the future and I would love you to come and see what’s possible. Perhaps you will have some of your own ideas that you would like to develop with other collaborators.
The Age reviewer is attending and the ABC’s Music show on RN will feature a live in the studio performance that Saturday morning!
What I am saying is, it’s not a regular gig 🙂
