INTI RAYMI is a winter solstice festival in honour of the Incan sun god. It’s the coldest, darkest night of the year, but after this, the days start getting longer. What better time to warm up with music and celebration! Join Peruvian cumbia band CHICHA YEYE for a right of psychedelic grooving in honour of the sun. 🏞🥁

Chicha Yeye are a groovy group bringing the funky sounds of psychedelic ‘60s Peruvian rock to Melbourne.

Chicha Yeye are a Peruvian cumbia band that takes you to the swamps of the Amazon, high above the Andes, and down to the city streets of Lima. Exploring the intersections of history, culture, and sound, we bring life to some of the funkiest music in the southern hemisphere. With strong connections to the vibrant Peruvian community in Melbourne, we play love songs, dancing songs, protest songs, blending the psychedelic surf rock of ’60s Peruvian counterculture with Afro beats and Andean folk traditions to create music you can’t sit still for. 🕺🫘
