Malayalam is a language that is spoken in the South Indian state of Kerala and the union territories of Lakshadweep and Puducherry. It is one of 22 scheduled languages of India. Malayalam was designated a “Classical Language of India” in 2013 and has official language status in Kerala and Puducherry (Mahé). It is also the primary spoken language of Lakshadweep and is spoken by 34 million people in India.
Malayalis are one of the fastest growing populations in Australia and there are 78,738 speakers as per the 2021 census.
92.3 Malayalam FM started broadcasting under 3ZZZ broadcasting group in mid 2018. This was the result of the combined efforts of like-minded, passionate people from the Malayalam community.
Since then, our trained broadcasters have produced interesting broadcast content, interviews of inspiring personalities, informative news and events sessions.
We have arranged chat sessions with local community members as a source of information for our community. Also, we have arranged cultural programs that helps other communities to understand our culture better.
We are an enthusiastic bunch of people who are keen to contribute more to the community through interesting programs and activities.
