On Friday night Bentleigh Greens moved off the bottom by defeating St. Albans 4-1 at home. And Heidelberg United drew with Port Melbourne 2 all. On Saturday North Geelong got totally demolished by Green Gully at home, losing 7-0. Hume City beat Moreland City 5-2. Avondale surpassed Melbourne Knights 3-0. Altona Magic defeated Dandenong in a thriller 3-2. And South Melbourne won on the road 1-0 against their old foes Oakleigh Cannons.
The ladder has Avondale on top, followed by South Melbourne, Oakleigh Cannons, Green Gully, Melbourne Knights and Hume City to finish the top 6. Port Melbourne are seventh, followed by Heidelberg United, Altona Magic, Moreland City, Dandenong Thunder, St. Albans, Bentleigh Greens and North Geelong make up the rest.
For round 8, on Friday night Green Gully hosts Moreland City. On Saturday Port Melbourne takes on St. Albans. Hume City is at home to South Melbourne. Avondale plays away to Dandenong Thunder. Altona Magic takes on Heidelberg at Olympic Park. Melbourne Knights faces North Geelong. And to finish off the round, Oakleigh Cannons hosts Bentleigh Greens.
For the NPLW, on Friday, Box Hill lost to Boroondara at home 5-1. And Preston Lions beat Calder United 1-0. On Saturday, Alamein were too good for Southern United 5-1. Bayside lost at home to Heidelberg 2-0. And to finish the round, Bulleen and the Senior National Training Centre had a nil all draw.
For the NPLW ladder Alamein move on top, followed by Boroondara, Heidelberg United, South Melbourne, Preston Lions and Box Hill make the top 6. Then we have Bayside, Bulleen, Calder United, Senior NTC and Southern United making up the rest of the ladder.
For the upcoming NPLW games for round 4. On Friday it’s Senior NTC versus Bayside. On Saturday, South Melbourne takes on Bulleen. Box Hill faces Heidelberg away. Southern United takes on Preston. And to finish, Boroondara hosts Alamein.
