On Friday night, Avondale were far too good for Green Gully winning 4-0. On Saturday, North Geelong had a much needed 1-0 win over Moreland City. Altona Magic squeaked past Melbourne Knights 3-2. Port Melbourne and Dandenong drew 0-0. Bentleigh and Heidelberg drew 1-1. And Oakleigh won away 1-0 against Hume City. 

On Tuesday night, 3ZZZ was present to broadcast the match between South Melbourne and St. Albans Saints at Lakeside Stadium.

South Melbourne got off to a blistering start with a penalty goal by Max Mikkola in the 6th minute.

In the 29th minute, Lirim Elmazi scored on the goal line after a scramble to make it 2-0 to South Melbourne.

South Melbourne’s wonder recruit Jack Painter-Andrews blasted the ball, that hit the crossbar and bounced into the back of the net to make it 3-0 after 37 minutes.

In the 40th minute, in what was a strange goal, Patrick Langlois squeezed past a header against a statuesque St. Albans defence to make it 4-0.

In the end, South Melbourne were far too superior for a helpless St. Albans side who won the game easily, 4-0.

The ladder has Avondale still on top, followed by South Melbourne, Oakleigh Cannons, Melbourne Knights, Port Melbourne and Green Gully making the top 6. Altona Magic are seventh, followed by Dandenong Thunder Heidelberg United, Hume City, St. Albans, North Geelong, Moreland City, and Bentleigh Greens on the bottom. 

For round 20 on Friday night. Avondale takes on Melbourne Knights away. And St. Albans hosts Bentleigh. On Saturday North Geelong is away to Green Gully. Port Melbourne faces Heidelberg. Hume City is at home to Moreland City. Dandenong Thunder encounters Altona Magic And to finish, on Sunday it’s old rivals South Melbourne versus Oakleigh Cannons in Yarraville. 

For the NPLW, on Friday, Preston defeated Southern United 2-0. On Saturday, Alamein and Boroondara drew 3-3. Bayside United lost at home 3-1 to FV Emerging. On Sunday Box Hill United defeated Heidelberg 2-0. And on Monday night, Bulleen and South Melbourne drew 1-1.

For the NPLW ladder Bulleen have now jumped to first place, followed by Boroondara, South Melbourne, Bayside United, Calder and Heidelberg make the top 6. Then we have Box Hill, Alamein, Preston Lions, FV Emerging and Southern United on the bottom. 

For the upcoming NPLW games for round 16. On Friday it’s Preston Lions and Boroondara. And FV Emerging against Box Hill United. On Saturday, Alamein host Heidelberg. Bayside United encounters South Melbourne. And to finish Southern United faces Calder United.
