3ZZZ goes into all the news and upcoming games for the Men’s and Women’s 2023 NPL Victoria season.

On Friday night, Melbourne Knights defeated St. Albans 4-1. And Oakleigh beat Green Gully away 2-1. On Saturday, South Melbourne won against Moreland City away 2-0. Avondale surpassed Port Melbourne 1-0. Bentleigh won on the road against North Geelong 2-1. Hume City defeated Altona Magic 1-0. And Dandenong Thunder eclipsed Heidelberg United 2-1.

The ladder has Avondale on top, followed by South Melbourne with both teams on 37 points, then Oakleigh Cannons, Melbourne Knights, Port Melbourne and Dandenong Thunder making the top 6. Green Gully are seventh, followed by Hume City, Altona Magic, St. Albans, Heidelberg United, Bentleigh Greens, Moreland City, and North Geelong on the bottom. 

For round 15 on Friday night Heidelberg hosts Hume City, and Oakleigh Cannons faces Melbourne Knights. On Saturday Moreland City is away to Bentleigh Greens. St. Albans plays Dandenong Thunder. North Geelong is away to Port Melbourne. Altona Magic encounters Avondale. And to finish the round, on Sunday it’s South Melbourne and Green Gully.

For the NPLW, on friday, Bayside United won away against Preston Lions 1-0. On Saturday Alamein surprisingly lost at home to lowly Box Hill 3-0. Bulleen and Calder drew 1 all, and Boroondara squeezed past FV Emerging 3-2. 

On Saturday evening 3ZZZ was present to broadcast the women’s match between South Melbourne and Southern United at Lakeside Stadium. 

South Melbourne took the lead in the first half with a goal by Francesca Iermano in the 16th minute.

In the second half South Melbourne extended their lead with a beautiful through ball in the box that was met by Danielle Wise who made it 2-0.

In the end, South Melbourne held on against a gallant Southern United and won the match 2-0.

For the NPLW ladder Boroondara remain on top, followed by South Melbourne, Alamein, Bayside United, Bulleen Lions and Heidelberg make the top 6. Then we have Preston Lions, Calder United, FV Emerging, Box Hill and Southern United.

For the upcoming NPLW games for round 11. On Friday it’s Box Hill versus Preston Lions. On Saturday Calder United plays Bayside United. Southern United hosts Bulleen Lions. Heidelberg encounters FV Emerging, and to finish, it’s the big top of the table clash between South Melbourne and Boroondara.
