3ZZZ goes into all the news and upcoming games for the Men’s and Women’s 2023 NPL Victoria season.

On Friday night, Green Gully lost at at home to Hume City 3-1. And Altona Magic easily surpassed St. Albans 5-1. On Saturday Dandenong Thunder won 2-1 against North Geelong. Avondale destroyed Heidelberg United 8-2. Melbourne Knights made light work of Moreland City 4-1. And on Monday, Oakleigh Cannons survived a late comeback to defeat Port Melbourne 3-2.
3ZZZ was present to broadcast the mens match between South Melbourne and Bentleigh Greens on Saturday evening at Lakeside Stadium.
South Melbourne took the lead in the 21st minute mark with a goal by Josh Wallen from a scramble in the box.

Despite Bentleigh’s best advances, the South Melbourne defence was too solid and came away with the 3 points to defeat Bentleigh 1-0.
The ladder has Avondale still on top, followed by South Melbourne, Oakleigh Cannons, Melbourne Knights, Green Gully and Altona Magic to finish the top 6. Hume City are seventh, followed by Port Melbourne, Dandenong Thunder, Heidelberg United, Moreland City, St. Albans, Bentleigh Greens and North Geelong make up the rest.
For round 10, on Friday night Heidelberg United hosts North Geelong. And Oakleigh Cannons face Altona Magic. On Saturday Avondale takes on St. Albans. Hume City encounters Bentleigh Greens. Dandenong Thunder hostsMoreland City. On Monday South Melbourne plays Port Melbourne. And to finish off the round, it’s Melbourne Knights versus Green Gully
For the NPLW, on Saturday Box Hill surpassed FV Emerging 1-0. Calder United defeated Southern United 2-1. Heidelberg and Alamein drew 0 all. And to finish the round, Boroondara had a heavy loss at home to Preston 4-1.
On Saturday afternoon 3ZZZ was at Lakeside Stadium for the women’s match between South Melbourne and Bayside United.
Early in the first half South Melbourne took the lead with a well worked goal finished off by Tayla Christensen.

Bayside fought back and equalised after a dangerous ball in the box was finished off by Kayla Deaver.

But not too long after that, it was that Kiwi forward yet again Tayla Christensen scoring her second of the match to make it 2-1 for South Melbourne

Despite generating various chances throughout the rest of the game, the match stayed at 2-1 in favour of South Melbourne.
For the NPLW ladder Preston Lions have now jumped on top, followed by Boroondara, Heidelberg United, Alamein, South Melbourne and Bulleen make the top 6. Then we have Bayside, Box Hill, FV Emerging, Calder United and Southern United making up the rest of the ladder.
For the upcoming NPLW games for round 6. On Saturday it’s South Melbourne versus Box Hill. Alamein faces FV Emerging. Bayside encounters Bulleen. Heidelberg United takes on Preston LIons. And to finish, Boroondara hosts Calder United.
