Dutch
![]() |
The Netherlands is a country in Northwestern Europe, constituting the major portion of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is a parliamentary democratic constitutional monarchy. The Netherlands borders the North Sea to the north and west, Belgium to the south, and Germany to the east. The capital is Amsterdam and the seat of government is The Hague. |
|
The Netherlands is often called Holland, which is formally incorrect as North and South Holland are actually two of its twelve provinces (see terminology of "the Netherlands"). The word Dutch is used to refer to the people, the language, and anything pertaining to the Netherlands. The difference between the noun and the adjective is a peculiarity of the English language and does not exist in the Dutch language. |

Now, our Dutch program is on, every Monday afternoon, from 4.oo-5.oo pm, And every Friday morning from 8.oo-9.oo am. We usually do the programs alone, but sometimes two of us are together, like Ron and Katy! But Ena, Mary and Tim are usually on their own. We give lots of information about clubs and their club news; also sponsors are advertised, furthermore, some do go into “the weather forecast”. We only have 1 hour, and people can catch-up with the weather any time they like, on TV, Radio, and even by telephone! We play Dutch music, and sometimes play an interview we did earlier in that week, or so..! |
