The Jewish Broadcasting Group was one of the founding groups at 3ZZZ and broadcasts in Hebrew, Yiddish and English to the over 60,000 members of the Jewish Community in Melbourne. The diverse nature of the Jewish Community is reflected in the programs broadcast and attempts to meet the needs of the new Jewish immigrants from Israel, Eastern Europe, Africa, South America, Asia and many other Countries as well as providing for the elderly and the isolated. It presents 3 hours of programs per week in English (Wednesdays at 9pm), Hebrew (Fridays at 3pm) and Yiddish (Sundays at 11am).

The Wednesday English weekly radio program L’Chaim – To Life, hosted by Maurice Klein (a long-time community radio broadcaster who has been short-listed for the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll 2022) and produced by Team L’Chaim (Maurice Klein, Dr Morry Frenkel, Jeff Degen and Dr George Banky) include interviews with international experts, federal, state and local politicians and community leaders as well as community identities, authors, musicians and performers. The Friday Hebrew program titled “Sha’ah Shel Ivrit” (An Hour of Hebrew) brings in the Shabbat with the latest news from Israel. The program also features a special weekly analysis current affairs from Israel and the Jewish world with an Israeli expert on current security issues and threats facing Israel.  The program reaches out to guests in Australia, Israel and abroad to tap into a variety of topics discussed, including politics, security, culture, literature, education and Jewish heritage.  A variety of Israeli music always helps to bring the listeners the “Taste and Feel” of Israeli life, so they can find themselves “at home” while in Australia. 

The program host is Ruth Gilmour with regular broadcasters including Dr Rafi Manory, Henry Lewis, Idit Benjamin, Amit Godinger, Dr Adi Kaufman, Ofer Zelig and Dr George Banky, with our dedicated weekly contributors, Rabbi Dudu Lidder and Ronen Hartam.

The Sunday Yiddish program is a light hearted Yiddish cultural program designed to be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea on a Sunday morning including Yiddish songs, comedy and Yiddish stories as well as News headlines from the Jewish world in Yiddish. The regular broadcasters include Bobbi and Michael Zylberman.
